What Does Divine Mercy Feel Like?

Mercy is doing the hard work of forgiving love

God’s Mercy went into the Cross
God went into sin
He did the work
Fought the battle

Forgiveness is hard work
Taking sin and conquering it
swallowing it up

Divine love unleashes power
Conquering the world
Power of the divine mercy corrects sin from the inside

We Are An Easter People

Father Robert Barron relates that everything in Christianity boils down to the fact that God raised Jesus from the dead – a very mystical act indeed for us to believe and trust. And going forward understand that we are a Easter people everyday and a mystical people that will not let doubt interfere with what we were born to do. Just as Jesus knew what he was born to do and accomplished it. He is our Guide, our hub to the wheel of life where we are the spokes, our Yogi who is alive and well today living and breathing through us.

“Everything said by Augustine, Aquinas, Francis of Assisi, Dante, Teresa of Avila, Thérèse of Lisieux, Pascal, Newman, Chesterton, and John Paul II comes down to the declaration that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. Every act of every saint is related to the fact of the Resurrection.

Over the centuries, various thinkers and theologians have tried to maintain that Christianity is fundamentally a moral system at whose center stands the command to love God and neighbor. Some have wanted to strip Christianity of its mystical and supernatural elements, turning the Resurrection into a pleasant myth or an evocative symbol.

But St. Paul gives the lie to these reductionistic interpretations: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile.”

In other words, what your faith comes down to is the conviction that God the Father has raised his Son from the realm of the dead. Everything else in Christianity—ritual, liturgy, theology, morality—flows from this fact and is related to it.” -Father Barron

Jesus said, “Whoever believes the Truth will hear my voice.”

Happy Easter to my people! Thanks for all you are and all you are here to be. XXO, Missy

21st Century Re-imagining

Roomful of Teeth is a GRAMMY-winning vocal project dedicated to reimagining the expressive potential of the human voice. A group of people formed a workshop to explore sounds in Massachusetts. Founded in 2009 by Brad Wells, the group’s artistic director and conductor, Roomful of Teeth is dedicated to exploring the expressive potential of the human voice through the study of singing traditions from around the world. Its eight classically trained vocalists are equally adept at Tuvan throat-singing, yodeling, Inuit throat-singing and new vocal techniques from Sardinia and Korea. They’re playing in Ann Arbor, Mi. March 15 – 16, 2019. Let’s go!

Love Is A Force Multiplier

I love Marianne Williamson! Her voice is loud and clear and speaking Truth. I discovered her book, Return to Love, in 2014 when my mom was ill and since then have cherished and listened to her words. They resonate where I feel like we are similar. I’m underneath it all now bubbly because she began a exploratory to examine running for president and two weeks ago announced “Now is our time.”

This video I listened to today on Valentines Day 2019 from a TED Talk in Traverse City, Mi. in 2013. I was like ok I’ll listen in real quick b/c I love Traverse and live in Mi. She ‘s a maverick and been talking and giving speeches and lectures like this for 30 years professionally. So she’s not new to speaking and creating dynamism.

In her own words, “May it manifest in a way that is light and a blessing and a gift to us all. I’m going to lay it down as best I can. About the story of America. About our democracy. About our economy and our economic system. About our children. About race. About waging peace. And every other topic that has been gathering steam in my heart just waiting for the day when I could sing it out loud and shout it out as best I can. I’m going to do my best to do my best. With your help, and with God’s, something incredible can happen here. Many thanks to all of you. God Bless the world.” – Marianne Williamson

The Spirit of Martin Luther King Jr.

In Dr. King’s immortal words, “Our goal is to create a beloved community, and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.”

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only Light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only Love can do that.”
-Martin Luther King Jr.

Ephphatha — that is, Be opened!

When we consider Jesus’ healings in the light of God’s coming kingdom we might be surprised not by the power of God’s plan, but by the gentleness of his love. God’s rule is made manifest not in a display of power, subjugating all of humanity to himself by force, but in the renewed humanity of a once-mute man.

God’s kingship is not imposed on the world from outside, as though he would oppress us with his power. Rather, God’s rule takes root in the renovation of human hearts. – Fr. Daniel O’Mullane
