This story may not make mainstream media but it will be lauded here. This is an amazing ethical breakthrough and moral achievement. Shinya Yamanaka, a scientist at Kyoto University, showed how “induced pluripotent stem cells” could be derived from adult cells and substituted for embryonic stem cells. Recently this ground breaking discovery earned him a Nobel Prize, shared with British scientist John Gurdon.
