Today is LightsMyWay’s one year birthday!

Today is LightsMyWay’s birthday! It’s also the day the Church celebrates the Immaculate Conception of Mary, so let us start with a passage from the most inspiring book of all time:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good.” – Genesis 1:1-3

LightsMyWay believes we all carry this original light source within us. And the way to reach the light is through the stories we share.

Sharing your faith story is an essential part to your mission on earth because it is original. There is no other story like yours. If you do not share your story, it will be lost forever. Sharing your story builds a bridge from your heart to the hearts of others. Share your story of inspiration, faith or hope, and lets light the way!

“Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony of God in them.”
1 John 5:10

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

Today we celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, nine months prior to September 8th when we celebrate Mary’s birth. Mary was granted this extraordinary privilege because of Her unique role in history as the Mother of God. That is, She received the gift of salvation in Christ from the very moment of her conception. Praise Mary’s Son, Jesus Christ and the wonderful things He has done for us, through Mary, Immaculately Conceived.

Today we celebrate Blessed Philip Rinaldi.
“What must you do to have life? Before all else, the first thing you have to do is pray for courage every day to carry the cross the Lord has assigned you. Then let each of you do your own work really well, the work proper to your state, as God wants it, and according to your condition.” – Blessed Philip Rinaldi

Advent Wreath – A popular Christian Custom – Second Week

Each Sunday in Advent we say the Advent Wreath Prayer for the week and light the candle. In the second week of Advent, light two purple candles. This week we ask Christ move us to action.

Advent Wreath Prayer for the First Week:

Stir up our hearts, O Lord, to prepare the ways of Thine only-begotten Son, that through His coming we may be worthy to serve Thee with purified minds. Who livest and reignest, with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.
