One of the oldest Christian feasts, the Epiphany of Our Lord, is celebrated today. Known as the Theophany in the Christian East, it is the revelation of God to man.

January is the month commemorating the Most Holy Name of Jesus. The feast like the month reminds us of the power of Christ’s Name and encourages us to pray in His Name.

“There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved” (Acts: 4:12).

The Name of Jesus says it all and is all-powerful. It’s a prayer in itself.

On December 23, 2012, Google launched “Google Santa Tracker“. It is supposed to help “track Santa’s path”. It features a dashboard, a gps, which features an animated drawing of Santa and 9 reindeer traveling over seas, and other views of Santa.

“In the Prophets too there is the image of the desert, the desert land that cannot grow a tree, a fruit, to bring forth anything. “But the desert will be like a forest,” the Prophets say, “it will be huge, it will flower.” But can the desert flower? Tracking Jesus inside the Empire

We learn compassion from allowing our lives to be influenced by compassionate people, by seeing life from their perspective and reconsidering our own values.

The Gospel of Christ is a message of hope, reconciliation, communion, a proclamation of God’s closeness, his mercy, his salvation and a proclamation that the power of God’s love is able to overcome the darkness of evil and guide us on the path of goodness. The men and women of our time need the secure light that illuminates their path that only the encounter with Christ can give.
