Let your light shine

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.
Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

Matthew 5:14-17

The Spirit intercedes for us

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.

“And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

Romans 8: 26 – 27

The steadfast love of God

“For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.”

Psalm 86: 5

How God uses our suffering

Have you ever asked God in prayer to give you a portion for grief or suffering to eliminate suffering for another or solve a grief for someone else. It is a self-sacrificing that I’ve used when there is no obvious answer or resolution only a problem that can be resolved by God.

Pope John Paul II quote on family

“The family, as the fundamental and essential educating community, is the privileged means for transmitting the religious and cultural values which help the person to acquire his or her own identity. Founded on love and open to the gift of life, the family contains in itself the very future of society; its most special task is to contribute effectively to a future of peace.”
